Juicy, delicious, lifted.
The province of Benevento (also the name of the city) in Campania is home to Fontanavecchia. It is a landlocked place northeast of Naples, where vines have long been cultivated. Fontanavecchia was established in the early 1900s by the Rillo family, who continue to manage it.
Made from the red Piedirosso variety, grown in Sannio hills north of Naples (it straddles the Avellino and Benevento provinces), this fresh wine was aged only in stainless steel.
Cherries and purple berries, vanilla and sweet spices, chocolate and wet stone aromas lead to a fresh palate. Red berries and layered with tobacco and fine spice flavours; it is balanced, has a faint rusticity and finely textured tannins.
Chill slightly for the freshest experience.
